Gracing the cover of EBONY’s December issue, Latto, the 26-year-old rapper known to many as the reigning queen of Atlanta rap, sat down with us to talk about the impact Atlanta has had on her music and upbringing.
Of course, when you think of the city that oozes SpottieOttieDopalisciousness 24-7, you have to think of more than just the music scene. You think of a movement. A pulse that’s deeply rooted in history, yet constantly evolving with the times.

Nearby, the Atlanta University Center houses the largest cluster of HBCUs—Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman College, Clark-Atlanta University, Morris Brown College and Interdenominational Theological Seminary—which have shaped Black intellectual thought for generations.
